Sign Language Glossary

Why do we teach sign language at Kids & Company?

Sign language is incorporated into our infant and toddler programs to help young children communicate, express themselves and cut down on frustration and tantrums. As we sign, we also speak the word at the same time, building and reinforcing verbal skills. Children hone their ability to observe and imitate, which are critical building blocks to learning. Many families tell us that their child will use signs at home and we encourage parents and caretakers to learn some of the most useful and popular signs.
