At Kids & Company, we foster growth in the Kidco Way; creating a culture of kindness, innovation, diversity, courage and optimism. We rely heavily on these values to guide our decision-making, our problem-solving and the way we treat our employees, families and partners.
Be thoughtful, listen and understand.
Embrace imagination, resourcefulness and continuous learning.
Respect, embrace and celebrate our differences.
Be bold, brave and speak up for what you believe in.
Look at challenges with an open mind to possibilities.
We take the role of nurturing and developing the minds, bodies and spirits of children seriously. We follow an emergent curriculum philosophy, which means our teachers are trained to facilitate learning opportunities and spark discovery. We demonstrate curiosity and excitement about the world around us by approaching the world according to the values of The Kidco Way.
Formerly our Random Acts of Kindness program, Kids & Company recognizes its staff who go above and beyond to exemplify our Kidco Way values in their own way. We encourage parents, employees and partners touched by the acts of a Kids & Company staff member to shout out the ways they were kind, innovative, diverse, courageous or optimistic.
Rebecca is the true definition of kindness. She answers her emails in such a way that you can “see/feel” the smile on the other end. She is always courteous, sympathetic and willing to help others. Rebecca is always quick to respond and never makes you feel like you are bothering her. Thank you Rebecca for embodying the Kidco Way values!Close
Alicia (our Chef) believes that Innovation is the introduction of something new; she is always looking deeper into this process, she always creates delicious meals and tries to be creative on how to present the meals to the children. For example, some of our preschool children don’t like fish but they absolutely love the ‘chicken of the sea’ when Alicia brings it to children in the rooms.Close
Jennifer is able to see each child for their best qualities. Each child regardless of their gender, facial attributes or size, is an individual in Jennifer’s eyes. She takes into account their background, ethnicity and habits when planning her Educational program. We admire how she sees every child as a diamond in the rough and celebrates what makes each one special. Our staff and parents respect her and see her for the diverse person that she is.Close
This brave and courageous warrior has been in the industry for decades, changing the lives of many young children throughout her career. We are even fortunate enough to have some of her former students, from years ago, serve as current teachers at our Schaumburg location. Talk about full-circle! Muniera shines as one of the most confident and prepared individuals that I’ve ever met. In the past year, she has navigated challenges with her super-star son with remote middle-school learning, a home that was impacted by a house fire needing full rebuilding, and a husband with severe health challenges requiring 24/7 support. While the world never specifically chooses superheroes, when it comes to Muniera — it’s getting one every day. Her physical and emotional presence to her responsibilities at work, with her family, and in her community are managed with poise and grace. She believes in the universe’s divine powers to give us only what we can handle and shares her incredible energy and love with those around her, every day. Knowing her is a gift to those lucky enough to cross paths with her — courage might be an understatement. Supernatural is more like it.Close
Stacey displays optimism each and every day no matter what the circumstances may be. Some of her favorite phrases are: ‘we’re living the dream,’ ‘we’ve got this,’ and ‘no problem,’ along with a constant pep in her step. Her personality is contagious and she always has a positive attitude. Stacey always makes children, staff, and parents feel as though they are her number #1 priority and approaches everyday situations with a glass-half-full approach!Close
“Those are the words that really speak to who we are as an organization.”
In 2020, during the global pandemic, Kids & Company paused to collaborate across teams on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ we do what we do. With a firm belief that children are the future, we aim to impact their present. And our approach is guided heavily by the values of being kind, innovative, diverse, courageous and optimistic.
